I have always had an interest in how the world works, deciding from a young age that I would study molecular microbiology. In line with this my research to date has focused on plant-pathogen interactions, including how environmental factors can influence these interactions.
I believe that in order to best communicate in the scientific world, aptitude in multiple languages is a necessity. English is particularly relevant due to the large number of English publication bodies.
